Puzzle Piece
by Katelynn Burnett
I have a younger brother
Who is different than the rest.
He doesn’t really talk much
Because it puts him in much stress.
He doesn’t like new people,
Or new schools, rules, or noise.
And when we try communicating,
He keeps focus on his toys.
Sometimes he tells stories
We don’t quite understand.
We try and try to make it out,
But most times it’s too hard to land.
Every day is a struggle for him
And a new adventure the same.
Autism is no joke you see,
Nor is it a game.
But even with his struggles
And his tough days with no ease
He still knows that we love him
Our little puzzle piece.

“I would like to say how much I love my brother and how I am proud of him for getting through his daily struggles.” Katelynn Burnett
