I’m fortunate to work with a wonderful person, book cover designer Mandie Tepe. For good or bad, she does the things I ask her to do. Yes, she wows me with her amazing skills, but I’m ultimately responsible for the decisions that finalize my covers. So, if the books aren’t catching the reader’s interest, then I’m the reason.

You probably don’t know Mandie because she’s a private person who never makes a big deal of herself. I absolutely admire her for the wonderful lady she is. She’s great to work with professionally and nothing but kindness and goodness in a friendship. That’s why I don’t mind sharing with you some of the things she can do for you if you ever need them.

Mandie designs book covers, formats the interior, creates ads, and much more. She’s also an author of novels I love to read.

I’m the secretary of the board for the Ozarks Writers League. Therefore, when we needed speakers for or virtual conference, I knew just who to ask. The conference was a huge success last Saturday! Part of the praise definitely belongs to Mandie since everyone enjoyed her presentation and had enthusiastic questions for her during the Q&A session.

Celebrating each other is more important now than ever. I love to hear what my family and friends are accomplishing in their careers and with their free time. If you and I don’t know one another yet, then please introduce yourself and let me know what you can do! I may need your help someday.

A poem for you! Bits of Nothing by S.V. Farnsworth

I’ve learned to trust myself as a writer. My heart is on the pages and readers can feel it beating.

That takes courage, not just once but every time. I imagine that’s why everyone has a story to tell but so few people put pen to paper.

I wrote a poem about it once. I hope you like it. However, I’m so glad the fire in my chest is an inferno now rather than the flickering flame it used to be.

I’m confident you’ll love the characters in my books. The reason being, you’ll learn from them exactly what it takes to overcome the impossible.

We all have obstacles inside and outside of our resilient souls. Let’s face them together.

Bits of Nothing by S.V. Farnsworth

I write upon the dead trunks of trees, paper dry and ink wet.

Want to be.

Press me softly lest I fail to tell the tale of a rising sea and a windy gale.

Trite.

Preferring failure, I digress, becoming loathe to put forth a single word.

Quitter.

I write nothingness, hiding in the branches of my mind.

Never was.

I am surrounded by leaves, the litter of trees, my words reduced to shreds.

Waste.

Forests hewn and ground to bits, I consume them by my hand.

Drain.

Forcefully tattooing my grief and love upon nature’s page, I mar myself.

Fool.

My will is not still. My hope flickers in the breeze.

Failure.

Undisciplined.

The volumes of my mind’s fruit are consumed leaving nothing.
