Life is Like a Daffodil
Once upon a time, I worked in a florist shop. I delivered floral arrangements to happy recipients. I also, processed flowers when they shipped to the store. Processing involved cutting the stems and placing the flowers in warm preservative water.
My favorite flower is the daffodil. When those came in I cut them, put them in water, let them sit for a few minutes, and then transferred them to a fresh container of water. When daffodils are cut they ooze a toxin that makes them wilt.
People can be like daffodils. I like to read those kinds of stories. I write injured characters with toxic lives and help them find a fresh way of living. You may enjoy my series “Woman of the Stone”. A sample chapter is available at https://sites.google.com/site/svfarnsworth/home/sample.
